July 22, 2026, Chisinau – The Government approved the appointment of Mihaela Martînov as government agent of the Republic of Moldova at the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR).
"I wish him much success in exercising this mandate. I have full confidence in his ability to carry out this mission with responsibility and competence," said the Minister of Justice, Vladislav Cojuhari, during the Government meeting.
Mihaela Martînov is a lawyer and career diplomat.She currently holds the position of Deputy Permanent Representative at the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Moldova to the Council of Europe.Previously, she was Head of the Council of Europe and Human Rights Section at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
For over eight years, she was responsible for the file regarding the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe for Human Rights, which oversees the execution of judgments of the European Court of Human Rights, including those concerning the Republic of Moldova.
The new government agent's term will begin on August 28, 2026 and will last seven years.
