Improving the legal framework regarding the activity of non-commercial organizations

A major priority in the legislative creation of the Ministry of Justice was the elaboration of the draft law related to non-commercial organizations, which was voted in two readings, unanimously, during the the Parliament session on June 11, 2020.

This draft law aims to substantially improve and standardize the legal framework for the establishment and registration of non-profit organizations, in order to bring them into line with international and European standards on best practices on freedom of association (OSCE / ODIHR and Venice Commission Instructions on freedom of association).

Also, the draft law creates a beneficial habitat for all non-profit organizations, in order to remove restrictions for certain categories of persons to form and participate as founders, members or leaders in non-profit organizations, removing territorial restrictions on the activity of non-profit organizations, simplification of the registration procedure of non-commercial organizations, better regulation of the competence of self-governing bodies of non-commercial organizations.
