Today, July 7, 2020, the Minister of Justice, Fadei Nagacevschi, participated in online policy dialogue: "Strategy for Ensuring the Independence and Integrity of the Justice Sector": Priority Directions, Constraints and Opportunities", organized by the Institute for European Policies and Reforms in cooperation with Moldovan Legal Resources Center in partnership with the Ministry of Justice.
During the dialogue, the Minister of Justice, Fadei Nagacevschi, the Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, Peter Michalko, the United States of America Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Dereck J. Hogan, and the head of the Council of Europe Office in Chisinau, William Massolin mentioned the importance of the new policy document aimed to build an independent judiciary with honest and responsible actors, as well as establishing a medium-term overview of the sustainable development of the justice sector.
The participants stated the most important strategic directions that will be reflected in the new Strategy and Action Plan, but also the need to establish an effective mechanism for monitoring all achievements.
As a remind it is mentioned that in the beginning of this year, the Ministry of Justice restarted the public consultation process for drafting the policy documents (the strategy and the Action Plan for its implementation) involving stakeholders, civil society representatives, Council of Europe experts, the European Union and other partners.
Currently, the Ministry of Justice continues the process of working on this policy document. In this respect, the Ministry of Justice relies on the support and active involvement of all stakeholders, in order to identify the best solutions to current problems in the field of justice.
