July 23, 2026, Chisinau – The Ministry of Justice has launched a dialogue with key institutions in the justice sector, in order to identify common solutions that would contribute to increasing the attractiveness of the judge and prosecutor professions and to maintaining professionals in the system. The discussions are taking place within a working group established at the initiative of the ministry. It includes representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the Superior Council of Magistracy, the Superior Council of Prosecutors and the National Institute of Justice.

The group's mission is to analyze the regulatory and institutional framework regarding admission to the position of judge and prosecutor, to identify solutions to improve the existing mechanism and, where appropriate, to develop proposals for amending the regulatory framework necessary for their implementation.

During the meeting, the Minister of Justice, Vladislav Cojuhari, emphasized that the subject is a priority on the ministry's agenda."Justice is not only about the laws we adopt, but also about the people who apply them. We need well-trained, honest and responsible professionals who want to come into the system, stay and build a career here. We aim to establish short, medium and long-term actions, starting from the real needs and the experience of those who work every day in courts and prosecutors' offices. Our firm goal is to increase the attractiveness of the professions, the interest in joining and promoting, and, ultimately, the quality of the act of justice and the trust of citizens", declared the Minister of Justice, Vladislav Cojuhari.

The participants discussed training at the National Institute of Justice, the obstacles encountered by candidates when entering the profession, the duration of selection and evaluation procedures, the degree of occupancy of vacant positions, and career promotion.
